Lost Valley Lake RV Resort - Owensville, Mo.

Hello all,

Martha and I are now at Lost Valley RV Resort. My brother invited us to stay here as they are members. The park offers a lot of amenities such as two aquatic centers, hot tubs, boat rental, a spa and horseback riding.  It is a nice concept but the infrastructure is need of updating and the park roads are horrible.  My 40' rig hasn't been level since we got here because of the slope of the RV pad.  I have six blocks under the drivers side front jack and still cannot take the coach high enough to get it quite level. On the plus side we have FHU's with 50 amps.

Nice and level eh? The vacant lot is the one they tried to put us in.  The one we're actually in isn't much better.

It is really great to spend time with my brother. It has been far too long since we've been able to sit down and just talk. I am loving it.

Yesterday we took Ken and Ann on a wine tour in Herman, Missouri. We had a good time.

Endless Summer Winery - Herman, Missouri

The Lakes here are really pretty. With all the rain we've had this spring everything is so green that the lakes really stand out.

We will be heading to the Jefferson, Iowa area on the 10th to deliver some family heirlooms that we have been carrying with us since departure. I think we are going to stay in a county park called Spring Lake County Park, Jefferson, Iowa assuming there is availability. It is a first come, first serve park.

More later.

  1. Yeah, it's getting a little annoying to walk up and downhill in the RV.

We tried the hot tubs out yesterday and need to try and get there again tomorrow.

Just a little correction. The photo was taken at Stone Hill Winery. We also did tastings at Endless Summer - which has non-grape wines like Pineapple, Peach and Blueberry. We came back with two Pineapple wines and small bottles of Habernero and Raspberry Chipotle wine. We also went to Adam Puchta Winery and got some amazing Port. Dinner was at Wings A Blazin' in Hermann. We all had seafood platters. I got some local wines. They had a ton of craft beers available, but the guys wimped out and drank Budweiser and PBR.

Comments are encouraged. Please let us know how we are doing.
