Continuing our exploration of the Carlsbad area we decided to visit the Living Desert and Zoo and the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center. Both displays are well done and well worth attending. The cost to enter the Living Desert and Zoo is $5.00 per adult with no discounts offered and $3.00 for children 7-12 (children under 6 are free). The Museum and Art Center is free but you can make a donation if you wish.
Living Desert and Zoo
The Living Desert display showcases upland desert flora and fauna. To tour the grounds you are given a map so that you may be self guided.

Carlsbad Museum and Art Center
The Carlsbad Museum and Art Center houses a collection of local, regional, historic, art and impressionist art. It also houses collectible's from bygone eras. For a small museum that is very well curated and the displays are well done. There is no cost to enter the museum.
